There are only 18 preferred contractors in the Metro Atlanta area officially awarded a position in this highly coveted program.

Siding Warranties and Estimates

What does your warranties actually cover?

We offer a warranty on our work, and warranties from the fine manufacturers of our siding, painting, and roofing materials. Our workmanship warranty covers labor cost in fixing and replacing what has been deemed ineffective or defective workmanship. The manufacturer warranties cover the materials we use. Meaning they will replace any portion of the product found to be below standard or defective with a greater or equal product free of charge. Additionally, our warranties can be printed off our web site.

Are your siding estimates free?

Yes, all our estimates are no cost, free of charge, 100% absolutely free. We set up a scheduled appointment with you at your convenience for a specific time not a window of time. We arrive promptly because your time is important to us.

What happens after an appointment is set up for an estimate?

Siding Recommendations and Information

What type of siding do you recommend?

We recommend only installing James Hardie® Fiber Cement Siding products. Siding Plus partnered with James Hardie for its siding replacement and repair. We also install brick, stone, and cedar siding.

What is ‘fiber cement’ siding (e.g. HardiePlank® siding)?

Fiber cement siding is an attractive, durable alternative to traditional cedar, wood composite, vinyl, stucco or brick sidings. Combining the warmth and look of natural wood along with the extreme durability of fiber-cement. HardiPlank resists damage from termites, rain, snow and humidity. A stable manufactured product that under typical conditions won’t delaminate, rot, or crack and provides low maintenance across the product lifetime.

What is the cost of “fiber cement” siding?

Typically, fiber cement siding is:

  • Equal or less expensive than vinyl.
  • Equal or less expensive than hardboard siding.
  • Less expensive than synthetic stucco.
  • Less expensive than brick.

Cost of re-siding a home does vary from project to project.

Does HardiePlank® comply with homeowners’ association restrictive covenants?

Each homeowner’s association is different, but HardiPlank® installation has been approved by all so far. Siding Plus will communicate with the HOA on behalf of our clients through the approval process.

Does HardiPlank® resist mold?

Yes. HardiPlank® has a moisture sealant coating. The HardiPlank® coating has mildicide in it to prevent mold growth. The coating is easy to clean with a garden hose.

Can HardiPlank® be installed on top of my existing siding?

Siding plus prefers to remove old siding but there are a few instances when we will install directly on top of the existing siding: If the existing siding provides a flat surface and is in good condition.

Does HardiPlank® Siding Rot?

James Hardie® Siding products are warranted not to warp, delaminate or rot. At five times thicker than vinyl siding, James Hardie® siding is warranted against hail damage and withstand winds up to 150 MPH.

Do you use HardiPlank® for small siding repairs?

Siding Plus utilizes HardiPlank® for all repairs, small or large. We have no minimum for HardiPlank® replacement siding projects.

Do you replace soffits with James Hardie® soffit products?

If soffits are in an acceptable condition, we will paint them to match. If repairs are required, we can replace with new soffits from HardiSoffit® or replace only the damaged portion with wood.

On what kinds of Atlanta houses do you typically install HardiPlank®?

Defective siding was installed on thousands of homes in metro Atlanta during the 1970’s and 1980’s. HardiPlank® performs is best when used to replace existing Masonite or wood siding. It is common to replace stucco as well.

Will I qualify for any insurance discount with new HardiPlank® siding?

Are there any health or environmental concerns with HardiPlank®?

Absolutely not. HardiPlank® is a safe, environmentally friendly product. No glass fibers, asbestos, formaldehyde, or glass fibers use in manufacturing of this product.

HardiePlank® siding with ColorPlus® Technology is a baked on, multi-coat, factory application delivering a consistent, beautiful, finished siding product. HardiePlank® siding with ColorPlus® Technology comes with a 15-year paint finish warranty.

How long will James Hardie® siding last?

When installed properly, James Hardie HardiPlank® siding has a 30-year product transferable warranty.

Will the HardiPlank® siding ever need to be repainted?

With quality paint job on primed James Hardie HardiPlank® siding lasts typically 9-12 years in Georgia. Be cautious of anyone who claims a paint job will last the lifetime pf the product. No matter how good the painter maybe, it is unrealistic for a paint job to last in Georgia’s climate.

Siding Installation Process

What does it take to re-siding my home?

Siding Plus begins every siding project by protecting and covering items not involved in the renovation (such as AC units, flower beds, and decks). Next we remove and dispose of the old siding; replacing any rotted/damaged plywood sheathing; and then installing a vapor barrier (such as Tyvek or Owens Pink Wrap). We then pressure wash, caulk, prep and paint your new James Hardie® Siding Product. Finally we re-install light fixtures and add PVC mounts to all exterior light fixtures that contact with the new siding. Lastly, we clean up any mess and debris then leave your home picture perfect.

How long does it take to re-side a home?

It typically takes 5-7 days to finish a project depending on the size of the home, scope of the exterior remodel and weather conditions.

What other aspects are involved with remodeling the exterior of a home?

You’ll need to look at door and window trim, soffits, fascia areas, columns, gutters and anything else on the exterior of the home.
